Sorry for not updating for the last 8 months or so. So, I am not teaching 3rd grade. In the time since I wrote that post I found out that I was teaching 3rd grade, then Spanish, and finally settled in to teaching kindergarten. Teaching's a trip, my kids are crazy cute and smart and fiendish at times. I'm also getting a Master's in Teaching, which means class two nights a week and lots of busy-ness for me. My co-teacher is awesome, and I've learned a lot from her, but sadly we won't be together next year. I've opted to move up with my kids to 1st grade and have a classroom of my own! I'm very excited.

I may or may not try to update this more often. Maybe if you prod me more, Matt.

The Journey Begins

I'm going to be teaching 3rd grade! I just found out tonight, at my first day of "work." The quotations are there because work today consisted of meeting at 4 in the afternoon and then going on a scavenger hunt that ended at a boardmember's house where we ate jambalaya and icecream cake and generally schmoozed for a bit. Tomorrow will be a real day of work, however - we're starting at 8:30.

I'm so excited right now though. 3rd grade sounds awesome, and it's older than I was expecting to get. Also, the fellow teachers and in general everyone connected with the school seems to be such good people. I'm envisioning a good year. :-)

Time to go do my homework before more PD in the morning!
